Anyway life is good here in Granbury, Texas. And now I'm ready to be looking for some expecting mamas who I can assist, comfort, and support through her pregnancy and birth. That has proven to be more difficult than I expected. When you move to a new area where you have no contacts, or acquaintances in the birth world, it's hard to get your name out there. So I'm always willing to receive helpful tips and hints. I am so excited to get back into doula work. I have missed it terribly. I'm sitting here in Starbucks with the lil husband as we both work off of separate laptops and I've seen two different expecting mamas walk in and it was all I could do not to jump up and go introduce myself and ask if they were interested in having a doula. Then Blake told me I should have done just that. I guess that no matter how outgoing I am I still have a little bit of shyness in me.
So currently I'm located in Granbury, Texas. But it's Texas everyone drives all over the countryside here for anything and everything. So of course I'm more than willing to drive to any of the surrounding areas. As a doula we usually say we will go anywhere as long as we are within a two hour radius. So that's what I'm willing to do at this point.
I'm excited to see where this new path here in Texas takes me. I loved the families I was able to support and work with in San Luis Obispo County, each and everyone of them has a special little place in my heart. I am so ready to be back a part of birth again. I have missed it.
Back on a note of personal married life... we have gotten to travel a few different areas here semi locally and I have loved every bit of it. Living close to my oldest sister and my adorable niece has been a major plus to moving here. Blake's three sisters have been so amazing at opening their arms and welcoming me into the family as well as his parents. Love having 5 new nephews and 1 new niece just around the corner from our little house as well. Life is good, God has given me so many blessings in the past two months and I am so thankful for my husband. I may miss so many people from back "home" but I'm loving Texas married life.
