Well here I am just two short months after completing my training as a labor and birth doula. I am already working with one couple who is expecting their daughter in December! Jenny Lynn has agreed to attend the birth with me when the time comes and for that I'm very grateful! I have been very busy with meeting with my little mama-to-be and researching and answering questions that have been thrown my way over the last few weeks. There's something to be said about when the mama you're working with will take the time out of her day to send you a small note of thanks and tell you that she is glad she picked you to be her doula. My heart soared when I recieved that message! I want so badly to help in every way I can, I wish I could take away all the discomfort and make everything go smoothly. But alas, all I can do is give my heart and soul to my work and hope I can help make this journey for her a little bit easier, or add a little bit of comfort into the days we meet.
To all you Mamas and Mama-to-be's, you are amazing! The fact that you carry your child inside you body for ~40 weeks, then go through labor and birth to bring that child into this world makes you so strong and so powerful. You are my heros, and I am so glad I get to see it first hand.
